How to Use the Cursive Name Generator

  1. Type the name — a first name, a full name, a word like "Family" or a team name. Every preview in the grid updates instantly.
  2. Compare all ten fonts side by side. Each cell shows your name in a different cursive font with the font's name labelled, so the right style usually picks itself. Tune size and color for the whole grid at once.
  3. Download your favourite. Every cell has its own Download PNG button, exporting a 2×-resolution image with a transparent background (on by default) — ready for prints, overlays and mockups.

Popular Uses for Cursive Names

Baby Names & Nursery Decor

Shortlisting baby names? Seeing "Sophia" next to "Aurora" in an elegant script is a surprisingly good tiebreaker — and the PNG doubles as wall-art mockup for the nursery.

Tattoo Font Preview

Compare how a name reads in ten scripts before you commit. One honest caveat: screen fonts are not tattoo stencils — always have your artist confirm the letterforms and spacing first (details in the FAQ below).

Wedding Place Cards

Generate each guest's name in the same font, download the PNGs, and lay them out in your card template — far faster than hand-lettering a hundred place cards.

Social Media & Watermarks

A cursive name PNG with a transparent background works as a photo watermark or a channel wordmark. For stylised text you can paste directly into bios, use our bold cursive text generator instead.

Logo Sketches

A name in the right script is half a logo. Export a few candidates and test them at small sizes before paying for a custom logotype.

Choosing the Right Cursive Style for a Name

  • Short names can carry big flourishes. "Ava" or "Leo" in Great Vibes or Tangerine look dramatic because there is room for sweeping capitals. Long names like "Alexandria" in the same font get crowded — pick a calmer, more legible hand like Dancing Script or Allura instead.
  • The capital letter decides the mood. In most script fonts the capital does the talking: compare the "S" across the grid and you have basically compared the fonts. If the initial looks wrong, move on — lowercase letters differ far less.
  • Test it at the final size. A name that looks graceful at 80px may turn to mush on a place card. Download the PNG and view it at the real dimensions before printing or ordering anything.
  • If it is meant to be signed, practise it. When the name doubles as a signature, print it as a tracing sheet with our cursive worksheet generator and rehearse until it flows; for ready-made signature designs, the cursive signature generator is tuned for exactly that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the cursive name generator free?

Yes — it is completely free, with no sign-up and no watermarks. All ten font previews and every PNG download are generated locally in your browser, so you can compare and export as many names as you like.

Can I see my name in all the cursive fonts at once?

Yes — that is exactly what this page does. Type a name once and the grid renders it in all ten cursive fonts side by side, each labelled with the font name, so you can compare styles at a glance instead of switching fonts one by one.

How do I download my cursive name with a transparent background?

Transparent background is on by default — the checkerboard behind each preview shows what will be transparent. Click the Download PNG button under any font to export a 2×-resolution image of your name in that style, with the transparency preserved for overlays, stickers and designs.

Can I use the generated name images commercially?

Yes. The images you generate are yours for personal or commercial use — nursery prints, wedding stationery, product previews and more. The fonts are open-licensed Google Fonts (SIL Open Font License), which permits commercial use.

Can I use these previews for a tattoo?

You can use them to shortlist styles, but treat them as a starting point only. Screen fonts are not stencils: a tattoo artist needs to adjust letter spacing, joins and line thickness so the design ages well on skin. Take your favourite PNG to your artist and have them confirm the letterforms before committing.

Is the name I type uploaded or stored anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser with JavaScript — the name you type is never sent to a server, logged or stored. Once the page has loaded, the generator even works offline.
