Stroke contrast
Alex Brush has pronounced thick and thin strokes; Sacramento is closer to an even monoline.
Compare your word in eight cursive tattoo fonts and download transparent PNG references for your artist.
The preview compares design choices visible on screen. Shortlist shapes you prefer, then let your artist adapt the lettering to the actual size and placement.

Look for collisions, closed counters and joins that make letters hard to distinguish in your exact word.
Great Vibes and Tangerine extend farther around the word than the simpler styles.
A strong initial may still make the complete name too wide, dense or unbalanced.
| Font | Visible characteristics | Discuss with your artist |
|---|---|---|
| Alex Brush | Bold brush contrast. Strong thick–thin contrast, slanted letters and tapered brush terminals. | Ask your artist how the thin terminals and close joins should be adjusted at your intended size. |
| Great Vibes | Long formal swashes. Formal copperplate-inspired shapes with long entry and exit strokes on capitals. | Compare the full word carefully: long swashes can overlap nearby letters or extend beyond a compact layout. |
| Allura | Open and restrained. Clean, open letterforms with lighter upstrokes and restrained flourishes. | Show the preview at the intended dimensions so your artist can assess the lighter strokes and spacing. |
| Dancing Script | Casual baseline bounce. A lively, modern casual script with letters that bounce gently along the baseline — friendly rather than formal. | Decide whether the uneven baseline suits the word; your artist can redraw the alignment if needed. |
| Parisienne | Light connected script. A light, casual connecting script with an easy flow that suits short names and single words. | The light connectors may need adjustment; ask your artist to evaluate them for the planned size and placement. |
| Tangerine | Tall and airy. Tall ascenders and delicate strokes inspired by chancery calligraphy — distinctive and refined for short text. | Its tall proportions and light strokes need generous layout space; review the complete word, not one letter alone. |
| Sacramento | Even monoline. A simple connected script with relatively even line weight and compact capitals. | Its plain structure makes line consistency easy to compare; the artist still decides the workable size and placement. |
| Satisfy | Rounded vintage curves. Rounded, generous curves with a relaxed vintage feel and moderate contrast. | Check how the wide curves fit the available layout and whether adjacent letters remain distinct. |
The same word can require different spacing, stroke weight or flourishes when size and placement change. Take two or three references and ask four concrete questions.
Which joins or light strokes would you redraw at the size I am considering?
Does this word need more room between any letters for the chosen placement?
Which entry, exit or underline strokes should be shortened or removed?
What changed between this reference and the adjusted stencil, and why?

Yes — as a reference, which is exactly what it is for. Bring the transparent PNG (or a printout) to your consultation so your artist can see the letterforms, spacing and mood you want. The artist still has to convert it into a proper stencil and adjust it to your skin, and no generator — ours included — replaces a professional tattoo artist's judgement on sizing, placement and line weight.
Compare visible features first: stroke contrast, spacing, joins, capital swashes and the overall width of your exact word. This page does not predict how a font will heal or age on a particular person. Bring two or three references to a qualified tattoo artist, who can assess size, placement and any redraws needed for your situation.
This generator cannot set a safe minimum size. The answer depends on the exact letterforms, placement, technique and individual circumstances. Export the reference, show it at the dimensions you are considering and ask your tattoo artist what must be simplified, widened or redrawn before it becomes a stencil.
Yes, completely free with no sign-up, no watermark and no usage limits. Preview as many words in as many fonts as you like and download every PNG — everything runs in your browser, so there is no server cost to pass on.
Yes. Transparent background is on by default, and the checkerboard shows the area that will be transparent. The PNG downloads at 2× resolution as a visual reference for your consultation; your artist still needs to prepare the final stencil.
No. The grid renders and every PNG export happen locally in your browser with JavaScript — nothing you type is uploaded, logged or stored on any server. Tattoo text is often personal; it stays on your device.
